Section 86
Issuance of Indenture
(1) The convening officer of the military court or the president of the military court or the commanding officer of the military court or the commanding officer of the accused may issue a summons to the person concerned to produce any document or other thing or to testify at the appointed place and time.
(2) If a specific document or any other thing under the authority of a witness has to be produced, it should be clearly mentioned in the affidavit.
(3) If any witness is a person within the jurisdiction of this Act, a subpoena shall be sent to his commanding officer and he shall cause such subpoena to be served.
(4) If it is known that there is any witness within the jurisdiction of a Chief District Officer, the subpoena of such witness shall be sent to the Chief District Officer and he shall cause the subpoena to be served on such witness.
(5) Every person testifying in a court-martial shall be sworn in as prescribed before making a statement.
